Jacks and Aces

To speak insightful words
aiming to nail the truth.
what meaningless effort is this
for whats concealed behind a booth.
Confess to me my dear
I am the casino’s only priest.
Place your bid and trust
that I will oneday die in peace.

Leaving your sins unspoken
until I am downed six under.
I will speak of them to earth worms
to entertain them off their hunger.

Now you go ahead my son
speak to me your sins.
for I am a mute, a dying one
who doesnt know a thing.

I will beg for your forgivness
from a lord almighty one
place your bids on my decks
even though I’d like to tell you
that no-one ever won.

lucky for all of us
that words do come by cheap.
and those of truth to them
are said while all asleep.
You come to me my child
and tell me the truth you hide.
Tell me of your sins
because I’m dying deep inside.

Damn it child, speak
and I will beg for your forgiveness
from a lord almighty one.

And as he shouts, Jack enters and says: nevermind the foolish one.
You keep the truth in hiding
keep the sins untold.
For soon the tide will rise
and sweep away the cold.

An enterntaining delectable poem. A good story that shortens time without noticing that it comes to an end.
